Economic Development Strategy 2023-2028

The Town of Cobourg's Economic Development department is seeking feedback from local business owners and management to inform the creation of an Economic Development Strategy.

Background
Town of Cobourg is undertaking research for their Economic Development Strategic Plan with the goal of exploring opportunities to further strengthen and diversify the local economy. The strategy will help guide the Town’s economic development activities for the next five years.

Phase 1 Engagement - February 2023
Phase 1 community engagement sought input to help us further understand the Town of Cobourg’s economy, as well as define potential opportunities for growth.

Phase 2 Engagement - May 2023
Through one-on-one interviews, focus groups and an online survey, Town staff were grateful to receive feedback from 111 stakeholders throughout the engagement project. The insights, goals and expressed concerns received from these individuals has assisted in the development of new Vision and Mission statements that will drive the Town of Cobourg Economic Development and Venture13 departments forward as well as five Key Emerging Themes that speak to Cobourg’s unique opportunities for growth and advancement.

To assist in streamlining the actions of the Cobourg Economic Development Strategy, the Town of Cobourg is once again seeking community feedback.

How to Participate

• Review the Consultation Summary Report
  
  
• Take the Survey – Survey will be available until May 18
  • Review the five Key Emerging Themes that the consultants derived from phase one engagement and rate the top two themes that should take priority.
    
    
• Attend the Venture13 Five Year Anniversary Celebrations and walk through Key Emerging Themes with staff and participate in the interactive engagement opportunity.
