Background
In Canada and the United States, opioid-related deaths continue to reach annual record-setting levels. Many communities have developed comprehensive opioid-related plans including a range of prevention, treatment, harm reduction and enforcement across multiple socioecological levels and involving multiple sectors.
Community action involves deliberate organization of community members to accomplish some objective or goal and is a key strategy for substance use prevention and health promotion in respect to reducing alcohol-related harms.
Goal
The primary goal of this engagement project is to gather community input and insight on issues surrounding opioid use within the Town of Cobourg. All feedback provided will help further assist and shape the upcoming agenda for the Opioid Community Summit.
