Background
Cobourg’s Council has asked the Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee (PRAC) “to receive public input on how the Town of Cobourg can manage the popularity of Victoria Park Beach, and provide recommendations to Council by March 1, 2021.” This survey is designed to inform Cobourg residents and gather feedback on options for managing and mitigating the impact of the high volume of visitors to Victoria Park Beach during a typical summer. This will facilitate planning for the post-pandemic period.

Please provide your responses based on a ‘normal’ year – not the exceptional circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic. At the end of the survey, you will have an opportunity to share your thoughts on how the beach should be managed during the COVID-19 pandemic (assuming it continues into the summer of 2021).

The public engagement objective for the PRAC Beach Use Survey is to:

  • Gather input from residents for managing and mitigating the impact of the high volume of visitors to Victoria Park Beach during a typical summer.

We're looking for your feedback:
To share your thoughts on how best to manage the high volume of visitors at Victoria Park Beach please contribute to the following public engagement opportunities below, including:

1. Completing the Survey.
2. Participating in the Forum.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Beach Use Survey. Your feedback is appreciated. The survey is now closed.

Your Voice, Your Town. Here's what our community told us about the Victoria Park Beach Use Survey.

The Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee (PRAC) initiated a public engagement process to receive input on how the Town of Cobourg can best manage the impact of the high volume of visitors to Victoria Park Beach during a typical summer, with results and recommendations to be provided to Council by March 2021. The survey and open-ended forum were launched on February 2, 2021 and ran for a period of three weeks, closing on February 23, 2021.

The Town of Cobourg is now releasing the Public Engagement Report for the project.
